Limerick Museum presents In Honour of Sarah, a new solo exhibition by Clare-based visual artist Grace Roberts opening June 1

Limerick Museum is proud to present In Honour of Sarah, a new solo exhibition by Clare-based visual artist Grace Roberts, running throughout the month of June Venue at Limerick Museum, Henry Street from June 1st – 30th, 2025.
Known for her evocative use of symbolism, layered textures, and flowing organic forms, Roberts creates artworks that explore memory, ancestral connection, and transformation. In this contemplative body of work, she invites viewers to consider the unseen threads that connect generations and the quiet presence of those who came before us.
Drawing on themes of identity, nature, and lineage, In Honour of Sarah blends mixed media techniques with subtle detail and earthy palettes. The result is a series of intimate visual meditations on time, legacy, and quiet resilience.
“This exhibition is both personal and universal,” says Roberts. “It’s a reflection on how the stories of those who came before us are always with us—sometimes hidden, but always present.”
Grace said, “The title of my exhibtion is in honour of Sarah of anf a tribute to my mum, Sarah Roberts, who ran the Treasure Chest antique shop on Mallow Street years ago. She never got to see my work in an exhibition, which is something I feel a little sad about as I know she would have loved every minute of the opening. This show is the closest I can get her there. There’s also a lovely resonance with the museum setting as she had such an appreciation for old things and quality things, so it feels like the perfect place to show work made in her memory.”
Grace Roberts is a visual artist based in County Clare, working across painting, photography, and mixed media. She holds an MA in Media and Communication and a BA in Visual Communication. Her work has been exhibited across Ireland in solo and group shows, and her artistic practice explores themes of memory, nature, and layered identity.
The exhibition opens on Thursday 5th June at 5.30pm, with all members of the public warmly invited to attend.
