Griffith College Limerick hosted its Employment Skills Fair at the Clayton Hotel to help prepare students for their career development

Griffith College Limerick students took the opportunity to prepare for their future careers at the College‘s Employment Skills Fair at the Clayton Hotel, which helped equip students with the confidence and tools required to get on the career ladder following graduation.
Organised by Eilish McCarthy, Programme Director of the Graduate Business School at Griffith College Limerick, the event brought industry professionals and guest speakers to share their expertise on a wide range of topics, as well as social media.
Eilish said, “The purpose of today’s seminar was to offer workshops for all of our students who will be preparing themselves for employment next year when they graduate. We have had an array of different guest speakers who would look at career development, professional development, interview skill techniques, emotional intelligence, and also look at rocking up their LinkedIn profile.”
The Employment Skills Fair focuses on the professional development of students, and also provides future graduates with the opportunity to benefit from professional services on the day. Eilish explained, “The students also could avail of professional headshots, and with the offer of all of these services, with the hope that these students can seek employment by next year.”
Griffith College Limerick is celebrating 20 years as part of the city’s educational landscape, as it continues to grow as one of the country’s leading private higher education providers, adapting its courses to the demands of industry and innovation.

As part of Griffith College, Ireland’s largest private higher-level institution with more than 50 years of history, the Limerick City Centre campus, which is almost 20 years old, boasts a student-centred approach in a dynamic and diverse learning environment at its city centre location, on O’Connell Avenue.
Ms McCarthy explained that the event demonstrates how Griffith College Limerick’s support for students goes beyond the academic, saying, “We at Griffith College care about those professional developments and that we just don’t look and focus at the academic side, but we also look at the professional and skills development that is essential for students when they’re gaining employment.
“Griffith College Limerick understands the value of what such workshops and seminars can offer our students, and it provides them with opportunities to appear professional and to develop their skills in careers for the next year to come. We aim for them to be prepared for career development and for life skill learning.”
The event organiser explained how Griffith College, as Ireland’s largest private, higher-level institution, welcomes students from across Ireland and all over the world creates a positive learning environment. Griffith College Limerick offers students the opportunity to grow beyond academics.
Eilish said, “We have a variety of learners from all over the world. The most unique thing about that is everybody learns about the different diversities and how different countries do different things, and I think that creates a way better learning environment.”
The Employment Skills Fair was a huge success with learners gaining invaluable insights and skills from leading career development experts, as the students can now prepare for a bright future when they graduate!
