Limerick-based collective “Hardware” is set to return with their groundbreaking concept club event at the Belltable this Saturday, September 7
Following the success of their debut event and recent Tresor showcase, Limerick-based collective “Hardware” is set to return with the second instalment of their groundbreaking concept club event.
Taking place on the 7th of September at Belltable Theatre, this unique event will feature a four-hour improvised collaborative performance by local electronic musicians R.Kitt, Tadhg K, Brawni, and Chaz Moloney.
“Hardware” is a community-driven initiative that brings together musicians and visual artists in an immersive, improvisational environment. The concept revolves around the use of hardware instruments, such as modular synthesizers and drum machines, to create spontaneous, live electronic music. This event will build on the collective’s inaugural showcase in March, which featured a 4 hour improv performance with Paddy Mulcahy, Rustal and local visual artists.
For this edition, the collective has invited an impressive lineup of visual artists—Alt For Jesus, Nancy El Azzi, Ohhi Ohno,Roisin Berg, and RAM—to showcase their work themed around “Machina.”These pieces will be displayed in the cafe, providing attendees with a visual experience to complement the music. Additionally, Jack Brolly will curate a specially designed Ambient Lounge, offering a relaxing space for attendees to unwind during the event.
“Our core mission is to foster creativity and collaboration within the Limerick electronic music scene,” says Chaz Moloney, one of the event’s founders. “By placing the audience in the middle of the action, we’re breaking down the barriers between artist and listener, allowing for a deeper connection and a more engaging experience.”
The last “Hardware” event, which brought a taste of Berlin’s famed Tresor club to Limerick, set a high bar, but the collective is confident that this second installment of their concept event will exceed expectations. The blend of musical improvisation and visual artistry aims to inspire both seasoned electronic artists and newcomers alike.
In addition to the event, the collective has plans to further support the local music scene with a workshop in October. This workshop will focus on collaborative live electronic sets, continuing the educational efforts that began with their previous event’s workshop featuring Tresor Resident Kerrie and Brawni’s workshop at Dublin Modular in August.
This event promises to be a defining moment for Limerick’s electronic music community, providing a much-needed alternative clubbing outlet in the city. Attendees can look forward to an evening of innovative music, stunning visuals, and a celebration of creative collaboration.
