Leona O’Callaghan, Founder and Finance Director of The Haven Hub, shared her thoughts on the event, saying “Our journey to this point replicates what life in general is like for most of us, full of challenges and obstacles. However, with hard work, a good support network and dedication we achieved so much and made it through the difficulties to get to this exciting point.

“While this forever home will be a massive asset to us, and the community, our biggest assets remain to be the awesome volunteers we are lucky enough to have at the other side of the door when a vulnerable person knocks. We look forward to officially opening our own doors on 30th November. The Charity Ball is a chance for the community to come together, connect & celebrate this achievement, Come join us and bring your dancing shoes”.

The Haven Hub is not doing this alone and is honoured to have the support of the Limerick Land Search Team, who will also be based at the new centre, providing critical recovery efforts in the area.

Calvin Prendergast, Chairperson of the Limerick Land Search Team, added, “We’re thrilled to be part of this exciting event and to collaborate with The Haven Hub in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the people in our community. The Mid West Mental Health Community Centre will be a place of hope and support, and we’re proud to be a part of that journey.”

Haven Hub are also reaching out to businesses and individuals in Limerick and the surrounding areas to help make this night even more special.

They said, “We would greatly appreciate any spot prizes you can donate for our raffle, which will play a significant role in raising additional funds on the night. This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to show their support for mental health services and gain exposure within the community.”
