A number of friends and colleagues of the late Lesley Anne Liddane, who passed away unexpectedly in April, will be taking part in a Haven Hub skydive fundraiser on Sunday, September 27, in memory of Lesley Anne, and in aid of the Haven Hub.

Lesley Anne Liddane was an adored Limerick businesswoman and mental health advocate, best known for owning and operating Chez le Fab cafe at Arthur’s Quay from 2016 to 2018, and more recently being a founding member and secretary of The Haven Hub. The Haven Hub opened in 2019, as a safe space for people suffering from mental health issues, or who were affected by suicide, to come to for support during off-peak hours. It is also a hub of information on suicide and suicide prevention, and offers low-cost counselling services for both individuals and families.

Prior to her tragic passing, Lesley Anne had been planning a skydive to raise funds for The Haven Hub, and now, a number of her colleagues and acquaintances, including Karen Higgins, Megan Casey, Ciara Foley, Breda King, Marcella Hogan, Joanne Molloy, Chantelle Molloy, Mary Quane, Megan and Damien Kelly, Leona O’Callaghan; Founder of the Haven Hub, and her son Dylan Campion, have vowed to carry out Lesley Anne’s wishes and take part in a skydive in her memory.

The skydive will take place with the Irish Skydive Club in Kilkenny on Sunday, September 27, and two Go Fund Me pages have been set up where people can donate directly to The Haven Hub, in memory of Lesley Anne.

Leona O’Callaghan, Founder of the Haven Hub, said, “One of Lesley Anne’s biggest qualities was her ability to bring a community together. Whether it was through comedy, coffee, or supporting each other, unity in the community was what she always strived for. She was a founding member of The Haven Hub Suicide Prevention Organisation, amongst many other things, and her passion for creating support for people in their lowest moments was matched by her inspirational work ethic and beautiful personality. She gave the people of limerick so much support, fun, laughter, and smiles.”

“One of her wishes before her passing was a skydive for The Haven Hub, which never took place. Now, twelve limerick people have come together to carry out her wish in her memory on September 27, by completing the skydive in her memory. All proceeds will go to The Haven Hub, just as she wanted. We look forward to remembering the amazing beautiful Lesley Anne, as we fulfill the last wish she shared with us that she unfortunately never got to witness,” Leona said.
