HearSay International Audio Festival makes a return to Kilfininane from May 7 to 10, 2026

The world’s most beloved audio arts festival, HearSay, returns to Kilfinane following a break for May 7 to 10, 2026

HearSay26 is set to be a gathering of the world’s finest audio creators in Kilfinane

The premise of HearSay26 is simple: a gathering of the world’s finest audio creators in an Irish mountain village to nourish our sense of possibility and to inspire Creative Audio in all its forms.

After a break for renewal, the HearSay International Audio Festival once again brings together international award-winning contributors and those breaking new ground from all disciplines of creative audio: radio features, podcasts, film sound, sound art, theatre, and audio fiction to foster collaboration and imagination.

Seventeen Venues in the village of Kilfinane, from living rooms and chapels to hairdressers and gardens, will host deep dives into the craft of creative audio, thoughtful reflections, powerful provocations, unique experiments, surprising encounters, creative challenges, immersive experiences, tea and scones.

HearSay means passion and free-flowing inspiration with no name badges rooted in a real sense of community. There will be over 80 events in a joyful gathering of audio adventurers from an expected 30 countries. Organisers say, “HearSay is truly international with over 75 per cent of Multi-day ‘Immerse’ Passes for our last physical festival taken up by attendees from outside Ireland.”

Announcing the return of the festival, they said, “We’re rewilding. Renewing our sense of possibility. In the Irish mountain village of Kilfinane. Cross the threshold with passion and playfulness as different audio cultures turn toward each other.

“Bring your curiosity to collaborate, experiment, and nourish your wild hearts with award-winning contributors from all disciplines of creative audio; podcasts, radio features, film sound, sound art, theatre sound, music, audio fiction & more. Come replant the joyful What-If-ery with us. Come home to HearSay.”

Adding, “Thank you to our amazing crew, passionate contributors, open-hearted participants and the people of Kilfinane for making Audio Heaven possible.”
