The Irish Chamber Orchestra (ICO) is delighted to welcome the return of Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud on his third visit to ICO in Limerick on Friday11 April. These concerts offer audiences the chance to experience a fascinating interpretation of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

Few artists captivate an audience as Henning Kraggerud does. In past seasons, ICO has revelled in his performances of Norwegian music and Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Kraggerud brings a unique energy to the stage, enchanting audiences with his engaging way of directly communicating his love and joy of music making.

Henning Kraggerud and ICO embark on an exciting journey through Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Kraggerud will bring the seasons to life, from the cheerful spring birds and intense summer storms to the fleeting autumnal foxes and winter chills. This is no ordinary rendition of The Four Seasons – it is a vivid exploration of the music’s drama, with Kraggerud’s connection to Vivaldi’s work creating a deeply immersive experience.

In addition to Vivaldi’s masterpiece, Kraggerud will perform three of his own compositions, interspersing them between the seasons. These works offer new perspectives and dimensions, merging the magic of the past with fresh sounds.

Irish Chamber Orchestra present Henning Kraggerud as Director/Violin with Aoife NicAthlaoich on Cello bringing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with the set list: Vivaldi: Concerto No.1 in E major “Spring”; Kraggerud: Victimae Paschali; Vivaldi: Concerto No.2 in G minor “Summer”; Kraggerud: Variation Suite for Violin and Cello; Vivaldi: Concerto No.3 “Autumn”; Kraggerud: Preghiera; and Vivaldi: Concerto No.4 “Winter”.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
