The idea behind Hook & Ladder came from proprietor, Andrew Moloney, a Limerick native who developed the concept from years working in his family retail business and his studies in Kemmy Business School.

The objective is to showcase a number of various store concepts under one brand, with each store retaining its own individual ethos and style. This will ultimately provide a unique experience for customers across all stores.

The first Hook & Ladder opened in Waterford in 2012 and has been a huge success. Following this, they have just opened a new store at 7 Sarsfield Street.

Hook & Ladder prides itself on high quality products, but also offers something different, in terms of an overall experience. Customers can relish the store’s delicious café offerings, buy locally sourced produce from the Artisan display, purchase a distinctive and inspiring range of occasional furniture, soft furnishings, lamps, gifts etc, all with the help of expertly trained staff. In addition to this, a child & nursing friendly environment, unrestricted Wi-Fi, books and daily newspapers ensure that our customers can relax, and enjoy their meal or one of our delicious home-baked cakes.

Hook & Ladder Cookery School is also a brand new state of the art cookery school, located below the Hook & Ladder Café.

They offer a wide range of classes and courses especially designed to cater for all levels and abilities, so whether you’re a complete beginner or an accomplished cook there will be a course for you.

The Cookery School is fully equipped with 12 work stations, which allows for a more personalised experience. Their team of enthusiastic and friendly Chefs will ensure you gain the confidence, knowledge and techniques needed to improve your culinary skills, all within a warm and fun filled environment. Their Chefs also have a shared passion for supporting local artisan food producers, and to source ingredients as locally as possible.
