Limerick is stuffed full of events and activities for all ages this Christmas season as enchanting pantomimes, charity events, and local Christmas markets make sure there is something for everyone in the 2024 I Love Limerick Christmas Festive Guide

Christmas is well and truly underway in Limerick, as the festive lights sparkle in the city, shop windows and amazing events and celebrations kick off the season in the city, Crescent Shopping Centre, and in Limerick’s towns.

Here’s your guide to make the most of the events happening throughout Limerick this Christmas, this is just the tip of the iceberg, check out the I Love Limerick events section for a full list of events for more than the festive offering this December.

Festive events take flight from November 29 to 30 as Black Friday at Crescent Shopping Centre with fantastic discounts and a meaningful cause as Kate Healy, a therapist with St Gabriel’s and rower, will attempt a 24-hour rowing world record from 11am on November 29 to 11am on November 30 to raise funds for an Innowalk device for St. Gabriel’s Foundation.

On Saturday, November 30, from 4:00 pm Celebrate the season on Nicholas Street for the Treaty City Brewery Festive Fair with music, markets, and a festive feeling. Enjoy craft beer, local food, artisanal gifts, and holiday cheer in the historical part of the city.

Adare’s Two-Day Christmas Market takes to the streets on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 giving you the chance to enjoy the delightful Christmas crafts, treats, and more making it the perfect spot for a Christmas day out (or two) in the picturesque town.

The season’s festivities continue with the arrival of Santa Claus at the Crescent Shopping Centre on Sunday, December 1st at 1pm where he’ll greet families at the Garryowen Mall entrance before leading a merry parade to his Grotto on City Mall. The Grotto theme for 2024 is “Santa’s Candy Wonderland,” promising an enchanting experience for children and families alike. I Love Limerick will be present to capture the joy of the season, with live music and entertainment adding to the excitement.

Christmas at the Milk Market is already underway, this Saturday, December 1 sees the Christmas Art Fair at Limerick Milk Market from 11am – 3pm allowing you to browse unique artwork and gifts in the city’s famous market.

Also on Saturday, December 1, LUXE Theatre Company will enchant Limerick’s streets From 7.30pm, with what promises to be a magical Christmas performance with characters and an enchanting parade at  Pery Square.

At the same time Santa’s Super Show comes to the Millennium Theatre; Join Rudolph, Frosty, and Santa in a fun family sing-along.

Weekly events at Wickham Way will keep you in the festive mood with their market and food court as the Wickham Way Foodcourt opens Thursdays to Sundays and the Saturday Market each week from 10am – 3pm.

December 6–7 brings more Christmas Markets and Limerick winter style as the Christmas Transition Year Enterprise Market at the Milk Market on Friday, December 6, from 10am to 2pm will see local students showcase their innovation projects alongside festive crafts and food.

Coláiste Iósaef Christmas Craft Market will also run on Friday, December 6, from 4pm – 8pm with more than 45 craft stalls offering handmade decorations, jewellery, and more.

Treaty City Brewery Festive Fair returns on Saturday, December 7 making it the perfect way to cap off an afternoon of fashion at the castle.

Opening on December 7 and running through January 5, the Lime Tree Panto – Rapunzel lets you kick off your family’s Christmas tradition with a magical, all-singing, all-dancing, laugh-out-loud adventure at the Lime Tree Theatre’s annual panto!

On Saturday, December 8, Limerick will be packed full of Christmas cheer as Santa’s Greenway Fancy Dress Cycle takes to the trail as you can join Santa and his elves for a festive cycle on Limerick Greenway from 11am!

The world-famous Coca-Cola Truck comes to the Crescent Shopping Centre on Saturday, December 8 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the iconic truck will be at the City Mall Car Park for a magical photo opportunity.

Christmas Vinyl Record & CD Fair keeps the festive vibes going at the Milk Market from 11am to 3pm on December 8a chance to find rare and vintage records while enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Enjoy mulled wine, mince pies, artisan stalls, and live caroling by the Drombanna Singers at the Ballyneety Hub Christmas Market from 3 pm.

The Oola Christmas Fair kicks off at 2pm at the Community Centre bringing handmade crafts, delicious seasonal treats, and live entertainment in this local fair.

Millennium Centre Christmas Market at 2pm gives you the chance to shop for unique gifts, enjoy delicious food, and even meet Santa at this festive event.

From December 14–24 the Christmas ramps up in Limerick as Santa comes to the Milk Market on December 14 raising funds for Limerick suicide Watch.

Now in its 13th year, University Concert Hall Panto panto Mother Goose plays from December 16 to January 12, 2025 promising fun for all ages with dazzling performances and the seasonal joy the UCH Panto has become known for.

Fossetts Christmas Circus at Cleeves will bring a different atmosphere to the city from December 19 to January 7 with marvelous acrobatics, stunts, and festive entertainment.

Limerick Panto Society panto Goldilocks – The Circus Panto comes toto the Millennium Theatre from December 27 to January 5 promising a hilarious and magical panto for all the family to enjoy!
