2025 promises to be an unforgettable year for music enthusiasts in Limerick, following on from an incredible 2024 which saw acts such as The Libertines take to Live at the Big Top stage and Snow Patrol, Liam Gallagher, and Paolo Nutini all make appearances at Thomond Stadium.

With a stellar lineup of concerts and the return of the Docklands Festival, we have put together a rundown of gigs and performances putting everything from 90s nostalgia to Irish rock on Limerick stages this year with even more to come as the year goes on!

Celebrating a local legend in February!

Join the people of Limerick in celebrating one of our favourite sons, the legendary Denis Allen, creator of our much-loved anthem ‘Limerick Your’re a Lady’ in the Lime Tree Theatre on Thursday 20th February 2025.

Denis’s very special guests for this celebratory concert will be some of Limerick’s talented singers and performers along with his friends who worked with Denis on his musical endeavours such as Louise Morrissey, Denis Carey, Denis Ryan (of Ryan’s Fancy), Emma Langford and Shaun O’Dowd with M.C. Lorcan Murray of Lyric fm.

May will get Limerick’s summer off to a buzzing start

David Gray brings his Past and Present Tour to the historic King John’s Castle on Thursday, May 1, getting the summer started on the right note.

I Love Limerick gig guide 2025: The Coronas bring their signature energy to Limerick on the May Bank Holiday weekend!

The acclaimed singer-songwriter will deliver an evocative set that celebrates his decades-spanning career. Fans can anticipate hits from White Ladder, one of Ireland’s best-selling albums, alongside tracks from his introspective 2021 release, Skellig. Gray’s lyrical depth and atmospheric melodies promise a night to remember.

Also over the May Bank Holiday Weekend, returning to King John’s Castle, The Coronas bring their signature energy and well-known anthems as they celebrate more than two decades of music.

The band will treat fans to a mix of chart-topping hits and favourites from their seven studio albums, including their most recent, Time Stopped (2022).

A mid-summer mix to suit different music tastes

Following an incredible reception at Electric Picnic, Amble return to their homeland for what will be a highlight of their 2025 tour. The band brings their unique musical storytelling and powerful live sound to King John’s Castle on Thursday, June 19. This homecoming gig is part of their 2025 tour, which includes stops at Trinity College Dublin and Belfast.

On Saturday, July 12, The Script will bring their only Ireland performance for 2025 to Thomond Park Stadium where they will be joined by special guest, James Bay.

The Irish rock giants will deliver a mix of classics and tracks from their 2023 album, Satellites, following their 2024 world tour, this show promises to be an emotional celebration of music and memories, honouring their late bandmate Mark Sheehan.

An incredible August wraps up the summer break

Live at the Docklands Festival 2025 returns with a mix of genres that will have music lovers from all corners of the country coming to Limerick.

The Docklands Festival returns with a powerhouse lineup, offering a blend of folk, rock, and dance music including Moncrieff performing what will be his biggest Limerick headline show to date on Saturday August 9.

Picture This will perform in Limerick as part of the Docklands festival on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 for what will be the band’s first performance in Limerick since they performed in Dolans Warehouse in 2016. With tickets selling out almost instantly, the band announced a second performance for Thursday, August 14.

On Saturday, August 16, a high-energy live performance celebrating three decades of dance anthems sees Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin Beats set the stage ablaze. Featuring tracks from icons like The Prodigy, Faithless, and The Chemical Brothers, this show is part of Pierce’s 95-25 Tour.

Limerick-based trio, Kingfishr will showcase their atmospheric and melodic folk sound on Friday, August 22. Known for their roots in UL and their unique studio on a dairy farm, the band is poised to captivate audiences at this homecoming gig.

Folk rock legends, The Waterboys, led by the legendary Mike Scott, bring their enduring classics to the Docklands Festival stage on Saturday, August 17. With hits like “The Whole of the Moon” and “Fisherman’s Blues,” their live performance will be a nostalgic and dynamic experience.

Wrapping up Live at the Dockands, Kaiser Chiefs will perform in Limerick for the very first time on Sunday, August 24. The band are celebrating the 20-year anniversary of their iconic album employment in which they will perform in full along with a host of their top hits.

Formed in Leeds in 2000, Kaiser Chiefs are one of the leading bands of their generation. Fronted by the charismatic Ricky Wilson with Simon Rix on bass, Andrew ‘Whitey’ White on guitar, Nick ‘Peanut’ Baines on keyboards and drummer Vijay Mistry, the band have had a string of anthemic hits such as ‘Oh My God’, ‘I Predict A Riot’, ‘Everyday I Love You Less and Less’,  ‘Never Miss A Beat’ and ‘Hole In My Soul’

90’s nostalgia in August!

Encore Une Fois!, Ireland’s 90s & 00s Festival, The Big Day Out has announced more acts and performances to join the already stacked pop party at TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on Saturday 23rd August. Already announced Peter Andre, Heather Small (the voice of M-People), DJ Sash!, Ultrabeat, Whigfield and Mark Mc Cabe will be joined by even more legendary DJs, chart-topping dance acts and the day will also mark the return of some of Limerick’s greatest club nights!

Limerick’s 2025 gig calendar is brimming with unmissable events that cater to all musical tastes, there’s something for everyone this year in Limerick City!

He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online.
