Adare Manor voted LAGTO European Golf Resort of the Year 2020
Adare Manor has added to its growing list of accolades after being named 2020 IAGTO European Golf Resort of the Year, and collecting the Hotel Experience Award (Ireland), at last night’s annual IAGTO Awards, the closing event of IGTM in Marrakech, Morocco.
The awards, honoring the best in golf tourism, recognize the significant investment Adare Manor has made during the renovation of the entire resort in 2016-2017, and the dedication of the team to offer guests an unforgettable experience at one of the world’s best golf courses.
The recognition coincides with a historic year for golf in Ireland, following Irishman, Shane Lowry’s, Open Championship victory at Royal Portrush – the first time Ireland has hosted the event in 68 years. The very next week, the JP McManus-owned Adare Manor Resort was named the host venue for the 2026 Ryder Cup.
The Golf Resort awards are voted for by IAGTO’s specialist golf tour operator members that now number over 700 from 63 countries. Taken into consideration during voting are customer satisfaction; quality of golf courses and accommodation; value for money; support from suppliers, tourist boards and airlines; professional conduct of suppliers; and accessibility to tee times.
Following the win, Adare Manor CEO, Colm Hannon, commented: “It’s an honor to be recognized by IAGTO and golf tour operators globally. It continues to be an incredible year for us at Adare Manor and Irish golf in general; we look forward to welcoming many more international visitors to our hotel and golf course in the lead up to the 2026 Ryder Cup.
“Achieving this award is a testament to the entire team here, who are fully committed to providing a first-class service to all of our guests. Our goal is to offer a complete golf experience for every guest, that will leave them with long-lasting memories and a desire to return again.”
Commenting on Adare Manor’s success in the IAGTO Awards, IAGTO President and Chief Executive Peter Walton said: “The reopening of The Golf Course at Adare Manor in April 2018 has received global recognition, and our IAGTO golf tour operators have clearly been blown away by the unforgettable experience that this resort undoubtedly delivers. Adare Manor is worthy winners indeed.”
