€100 000 ICHAS Business Courses Bursary Scheme Announced
A €100,000 ICHAS Business Courses Bursary scheme was announced as part of the ICHAS Business Degree Bursary Scheme.
The Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences (ICHAS) made the announcement of the provision of €100,000 in Bursaries for its Business Certificate and Degree Programmes which is set to commence in September 2016.
The Bursaries are available as part of the college’s commitment to the provision of ‘accessible and flexible education for all’ and are an extension of a programme of Bursaries which have been offered by ICHAS for the past ten years. Since 2006, ICHAS has made bursaries worth in excess of €250,000 available to students studying Counselling and Psychotherapy degree programme.
Access to the Bursaries is open to any students who wish to access the range of 3rd level Business programmes offered by the College commencing in September 2016. The Bursaries are primarily intended to support these who would otherwise be disadvantaged in terms of their ability to access Third level studies because of financial constraints.
Speaking at the launch of the ICHAS Business Courses Bursary scheme, Professor Denis Ryan stated that “this initiative has already helped over 50 people attend college and achieve QQI awarded degrees in recent years who might never have had the opportunity to do so”.
All the programmes are placed from level 6 to level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications and are validated and awarded by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
Those interested in the ICHAS Business Courses Bursary scheme should contact the ICHAS administration office via email or telephone, or log onto the ICHAS website. A public information evening will be held in ICHAS on 4th May 2016 5.30-7.30pm at Walton House, Lonsdale Road, National Technology Park, Castletroy, Co. Limerick
