The inaugural All-Ireland Podcast Awards (AIPA) has announced the winners of its first annual ceremony at a special evening held at The Woodlands Hotel, Adare as part of the SoundWaves conference.
The awards recognise the immense talent, innovation, and storytelling impact of audio creators across the island and drew an unprecedented number of entries, confirming the vitality of the podcast sector.
The winners, announced on Thursday, November 13, highlighted the incredible breadth of creativity in the industry, with major wins going to investigative journalism, comedy, and sports reporting.
The 2025 All-Ireland Podcast Award Winners included True Crime winner, The Real Carrie Jade; Documentary & Drama winner, Cover: Stakeknife; Conversation winner, The Laughs of Your Life with Doireann Garrihy; Sport award, Indo Sport – A Closer Look; Business & Innovation award, Engineers Journal AMPLIFIED; Current Affairs & Politics award for The Indo Daily; The Entertainment Award, Young Hot Guys; and The Spotlight Award went to Nicky Byrne.

The judging panel comprised both international and Irish industry figures from Spotify, Patreon, BBC, Wondery, Netflix, RTÉ, ONIC, GoLoud and Journal Media, with head judge Dylan Haskins.
The final award this year recognises someone who embodies the spirit of the inaugural SoundWaves Summit, uniting podcasting and entertainment under one roof. The winner of this spotlight category is Nicky Byrne.
Founder, Kathryn Mason from MASONRY PR, reflected on the success of the inaugural ceremony, saying, “The huge interest we saw in this first year confirms to me that this is a vital platform for the podcast sector. This is not a one-off event; this is the start of a journey. We have a three-year plan to grow and scale these awards, making them bigger, better, and reaching every corner of this incredible community.”
Head Judge Dylan Haskins said, “The range and quality of entries we had shows there’s such a diverse mix of shows, whether that’s from independent creators, commercial publishers or public service broadcasters – across the 32 counties.

“The winners of the inaugural awards have been recognised for their excellence – and awards by their nature involve competition, but the All-Ireland Podcast Awards are as much about having an annual moment of coming together and celebrating the work that’s been made – and all the better to do that in Limerick which is a county that has so much creativity running through it.”
Over two days, SoundWaves brought together the innovators and pioneers from the world of content creation to Adare. The conference helped explore the business of content through the prism of podcasting, sport and music and how they intersect through content, creativity, and commerce.
