As well as group sessions, the particularity of this work and what has allowed it to flourish over the last period is the possibility of holding one-on-one collaboration sessions between different artists which has created deeper learning opportunities.

The aim of this programme is to support the development of specific individual artistic interests, following on from the groundwork that last year’s inclusive training programme provided for these 16 dance artists. This project is supporting individuals to take the next step in professional development at a natural pace which identifies and follows their key artistic interests, values and vision.

Katy Hewison, dance artist said, “This is a space to be ourselves and be fully in our dancing selves – In this space, we sometimes focus on supporting others only, but we also think about supporting ourselves to be ourselves with others.

We are working on self-development, on agency and decision making. We keep coming back to the work of trusting ourselves and allowing ourselves to be seen.”

Those interested in attended the event can find more information on the Dance Limerick website.
