To celebrate International Womens Day, the Rotary Clubs of Limerick Shannon along with the Soroptimist Club of Limerick collaborated in hosting a charity luncheon in aid of the Symptomatic Breast Cancer Services Unit of the University Hospital of Limerick.

The annual fundraising event is organised around International Women’s Day to highlight the role of women in society, raise awareness for marginalised women globally, and to be a voice for voiceless women worldwide.

Speaking at the 2016 event, Professor Colette Cowan spoke of her passion for her job, “What grounds me is that I am here for patients and that is why I love what I do. I have no doubt I am in the right job.”

Tickets are available at €30 from the Limerick and Shannon Rotary Club, the Soroptimist Club of Limerick and the Symptomatic Breast Cancer Unit. Included is a bubbles reception, followed by a three-course meal for all attendees. Proceeds from the ticket sales go towards the Symptomatic Breast Service Unit, at the UHL.

This is a wonderful annual occasion to celebrate and support a very worthy cause, and both men and women are most welcome at the International Womens Day Luncheon 2018 at the Greenhills Hotel. Tickets €30 available from: Mary at the Rotary Club Limerick Shannnon on 0876707627, Stella of the Soroptimist Club at 087 2837807 and Catheriona from the Symptomatic Breast Cancer Unit, at 086871 2835.
