The Irish Chamber Orchestra’s Music Factory is back with Gulliver & Beyond

Music Factory is an exciting creative music camp for children (8-12 years) which takes place from Monday 20 – Friday 24 July (10am-3pm) on campus at UL at the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance.

Gulliver & Beyond is the theme for this year’s camp as children journey beyond the realms of fairytale, beyond the lands of Liliputians and Giants, through music, song, dance, visual art, puppetry and musical theatre.

The ICO’s music camp has a long-standing reputation for providing the best facilitators in the Mid-West.  This year’s creative team is led by ICO violinist, Diane Daly. Tutors include singer/actress Jean McGlynn, singer Kathleen Turner, dancer Jenny Brown, artist Lisa Cody, percussionist Boris Hunka, alongside a host of professional musicians from the Irish Chamber Orchestra and Music Generation.

Children will experiment in many art forms, working in intimate groups with their leaders, to produce their very own performance.  No prior music experience is necessary. The aim of the camp is to make new friends, be creative and to have fun. Gulliver & Beyond culminates in a performance on Friday July 24 for friends and family.
