The Irish Red Cross has over two hundred Volunteers in its first aid service and operates six ambulances across Limerick City and County. They provide first aid cover for hundreds of events each year.

They are currently recruiting new Members for this service in the Limerick City region. While people who already hold first aid qualifications such as Occupational First Aid, Emergency First Responder or Emergency Medical Technician are very welcome, the organisation provides full training up to Emergency Medical Technician level for its Members.

They are also recruiting Volunteer drivers for their fleet of ambulances and minibusses. Drivers must be aged 25 years and over and hold a category B license for an ambulance or D1 License for a minibus. All Volunteers will be expected to undertake a training programme provided by the Irish Red Cross.

The Irish Red Cross Limerick City branch was founded in 1940 with just a small number of members. Now they have more than 600 members actively volunteering for the Irish Red Cross in Limerick City and County. The organisation offers a range of services including first aid and ambulance cover at events, first aid training, health and social care support and a Red Cross Youth section.

As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, they endeavour to abide by the Seven Principles of the Red Cross.

Irish Red Cross Limerick Area look forward to welcoming you on the night and would kindly ask that you share this information with anyone you think may be interested also.
