Irish Red Cross Limerick Area recruiting for adult members

The Irish Red Cross Limerick Area branches will be holding an information night on September 21st from 19:30 at 58 Henry Street. This information night will serve the following two purposes:

  1. Public Practical First Aid Course

This night will be for members of the public who would like to register for their Practical First Aid course which will start on Tuesday, September 26th and run for 6 weeks. This course is suitable for the home, club or community environment and covers a wide range of first aid skills including C.P.R, and the treatment of wounds, soft tissue injuries, fractures and burns.

  1. Adult Recruitment

The night will also serve as an information night for those who wish to join the Irish Red Cross Limerick Area as Volunteer Members. They will be discussing the work the Irish Red Cross do in Limerick, what your potential role in that work would be as well as all other queries including starting the membership process and the progression of a new Member.

The Irish Red Cross Limerick Area branches were founded in 1940 with just a small number of members. Now they have more than 600 members actively volunteering for the Irish Red Cross in Limerick City and County. The organisation offers a range of services including first aid and ambulance cover at events, first aid training, health and social care support and a Red Cross Youth section.

As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, they endeavour to abide by the Seven Principles of the Red Cross.
