Irish Youth Training Choir Seeking Youths to Partake in Training

Irish Youth Training Choir (IYTC) are seeking Limerick youths between the ages of 14-17 to partake in their IYTC Training course. This is a great opportunity for youths to train with leading vocal and choral professionals during a weekend residential summer course and performance for Irish Youth Training Choir. After this they can expect to progress on and train in a week long residential Irish Youth Choir course for ages 18-28.

Last year we had members from Carlow, Clare, Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Kilkenny, Limerick, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford and we aim for an even greater representation of counties in 2015.

During the weekend residential course, members participate in a daily routine of physical and vocal warm-ups, sectional and full choir rehearsals – a complete singing experience!  Sports and recreational activities are organized as part of the course.

  • Applicants to IYTC must be born or resident in Ireland.
  • Aged 14 – 17 during the June 2015 course you may apply for Irish Youth Training Choir.
  • Have relevant choral/singing experience
  • Have a nominating music teacher or relevant equivalent
  • In exceptional circumstances people not fitting these criteria may be considered.

The Irish Youth Training Choir, seeks singers to apply countrywide, aged between 14 and 17 for Irish Youth Training Choir 2015. Applicants must be available from Thursday 25th June to Sunday 28th June inclusive.

One parent said that: ‘My son thoroughly enjoyed his experience with the IYTC in University of Limerick in June. He says that it gave him an opportunity to experience what being a member of a professional choir is like and of what attending a university might be like.’

If your Son or Daughter are interested in applying to the IYTC they can get their application forms and further information here or they can call 061 234823
