Denis Sutton, Director of Ishka Irish Spring Water, said,“We are very proud to be associated with the KBC Dublin Marathon in this, its 40th year and support runners with their hydration during all Dublin Marathon race events. Our company prides itself on quality and we are happy to assure each of the runners that they will benefit from the purest Irish spring water at 20 water stations, all along the 26 mile route. To everyone taking part in the marathon in October, good luck and remember to stay hydrated!”

Ishka Irish Spring Water water rises from protected, natural springs in Ballyneety in County Limerick, where it is naturally filtered through the local bedrock. The water is bottled at source, untouched by human hand in a state of the art facility, the biggest of its kind in Ireland. The company is second generation, 100% Irish owned and will celebrate its 40th birthday next year.

Director Sutton said “All our bottles are 100% recyclable and made from recycled plastics and we will be working closely with marathon organisers and Dublin City Council to ensure all used bottles will be collected and recycled, to reduce the impact on the environment.”

On the day of the Dublin City Marathon alone, over 22,000 runners will drink an estimated 77,000 litres of Ishka water requiring 308,000 bottles, distributed by a team of 380 volunteers. Every bottle used during the course of the race will be collected within 24 hours and fully recycled.

Ishka Irish Spring Water was confirmed early this year as Official Water Partner of Athletics Ireland and the Morton Games International Athletics and in addition to The KBC Dublin Marathon, Ishka is also the ‘Official Water Partner’ of the Dublin Race Series.

Ishka Irish Spring Water was founded in 1978 by Mr. Michael Sutton Snr and is managed today by its two directors Mr. Michael Sutton Jnr and Mr. Denis Sutton. In 2007 Ishka Irish Spring Water relocated to a new purpose built, state of the art, high technology facility, located in the village of Ballyneety in County Limerick. This facility is one of the most modern facilities of its kind, where product and production innovation is a constant.

Jim Aughney, race organiser of the KBC Bank Dublin Marathon, said, “We’re delighted to have Ishka on board. This top quality Irish product matches our beliefs and the strategy behind the marathon, and long may it continue. Ishka’s sports cap bottle is ideal for our runners when hydration is such a vital priority.”

The KBC Bank Dublin City Marathon will begin from Merrion Square at 8.45pm on October 27th next.
