ISPCC Childline put out the call for volunteers this Summer and Autumn 2025
ISPCC Childline are recruiting volunteers who will receive FREE digital programmes, based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
ISPCC Childline are recruiting volunteers this Summer and Autumn to support young people and their families as they face their challenges with anxiety head on

Children, young people and families often talk with us about their experiences of anxiety and challenges to their wellbeing. Anxiety is a normal human response to danger or a threat, but it becomes an issue when it is more severe than it should be relative to the situation, lasts longer than it should, or influences the way we function in our daily lives.
The ISPCC offers FREE digital programmes, based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, that are aimed at young people who experience low to moderate anxiety as well as programmes for parents and carers around managing their own anxiety while supporting their anxious child or teenager.
When anxiety strikes in a young person’s life, the whole family is affected. Parents, carers and guardians, grandparents, aunts and uncles have all taken part in our programmes. Our volunteers and staff have been so moved by the huge efforts that loved ones take to support the young people in their lives, and we are here to help them.
A hugely important part of this service is the wonderful, heartfelt, support that our volunteers give each week to these families, and we need more like-minded people who can give some of their time to support the children of Ireland.
This role involves supporting young people and parents/carers through our Digital Mental Health & Wellbeing Programmes. If you are computer literate, comfortable with written communication, empathetic and supportive and have an interest tools and techniques that encourage wellbeing, then volunteering for our Digital Support Service might be for you.
ISPCC Childline volunteers, after training, will cover a four-hour weekly shift from the Limerick office on O’Connell Street, where their main focus will be to provide weekly reviews (feedback in written form) based on the young person or parent/carer’s engagement and to provide support and encouragement as they work through their respective programmes.
For more information about the service and volunteering, you are most welcome to join our online info sessions on Thursday July 10th – 6:30pm-7:30pm or Tuesday July 15th – 6:30pm-7:30pm. To book a slot, please contact [email protected] with your chosen date.
Our Galway and Mayo units are also in need of volunteers so if you live in those areas, please do reach out.
Our longest serving volunteer (27 years of service!) has said, “The most crucial issue over the last quarter century is the decline of mental health in children and young people”. We see that now show up as anxiety in so many children and teenagers. If you can help us help those young people, then please get in touch.
