Jack Fitzgerald Electrical has been announced as the Limerick City Tidy Towns Bi-Monthly Award for November-December 2024

Limerick City Tidy Towns’ sixth and final bi-monthly award for 2024 has gone to Jack Fitzgerald Electrical on Howleys Quay, Lower Shannon Street.

Maura said, “Our November-December winners are selected specifically for their Christmas windows or lighting displays and we are delighted to present this year’s award to Jack Fitzgerald Electrical, whose windows at their double-fronted unit at Howleys Quay are full of Christmas magic with a festive display of Christmas Santas, elves, and fairy lights to accompany their wide range of products.

“The team, and Claire in particular, really do make a great effort to celebrate the Christmas season, and we are delighted to acknowledge that effort especially given that the windows cover two streets on both Henry Street and Lower Shannon Street”.

Jack Fitzgerald Electrical is a family-run business and a stalworth of the Limerick retail scene, having been in business for over 50 years.  Having survived a couple of recessions and even having their premises flooded and burnt down on different occasions, they continue to thrive with the support of their very loyal customer base.  In recent years Jack Fitzgerald Electrical joined Euronics, a group of independent retailers who join forces to create the largest electrical buying group in Europe to create heavyweight buying power, allowing them to offer customers a wider range of products and at lower prices.

This however does not impact on the family run business the people of Limerick have become accustomed to. They are still the same family behind the counter, only now they can negotiate with suppliers for better prices and in turn pass them on to their customers.  For more information visit their website www.jackfitzgeraldelectrical.ie call them on 061 412555 or simply call in to the store.

Jack Fitzgerald Electrical is Limerick City Tidy Town’s sixth and final winner for 2024 and will be in with a chance to be their Overall Winner for 2024 at next year’s annual event, along with the Adapt Shop on Parnell Street (January-February), Thompsons Funeral Home (March-April), The Spitjack on Bedford Row (May-June), the Verizon team (July-August) and GUJI Coffee Bar who won in September-October.

If you wish to nominate a business in the city for an award or indeed to volunteer with Limerick City Tidy Towns, they meet all year round every Sunday morning at 11 am at the corner of Thomas Street and O’Connell Street, and on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm outside the White House Pub during summer months only.
