A fundraiser to help with funeral costs for Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa has raised more than €25,000
A fundraising campaign through GoFundMe has raised more than €25,000 as of August 24 to help with the funeral costs for Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, who was found dead in her Limerick apartment on Friday, August 21.
The 33-year-old from Sao Paulo, Brazil, had been working and living in Limerick for a number of years, and following the tragic loss, a fundraiser is now set up to help with costs of repatriation as well as her funeral and wake.
“Today we come together for a reason no one should ever have to face,” the message on the GoFundMe set up by Lucas Alvez reads.

They added, “Our dear Jady, a Brazilian who was living in Limerick, Ireland, had her life tragically taken. In this moment of immense grief, we want to help her family give her the dignified farewell she deserves in her home country, surrounded by the people who love her.”
The message on the fundraising page explains that the young Brazilian woman’s employer is covering the costs of transporting Jady to Brazil from Ireland, but noted, “There are still important expenses that must be covered so she can be transported from the airport in São Paulo to her hometown, as well as the costs of her wake and burial.”
The organiser said the fundraiser was created to help cover the transportation from São Paulo airport to where Jady will be laid to rest, the funeral service and burial, and other costs directly related to Jady’s final farewell.
They added, “Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference and will be a meaningful gesture of kindness and solidarity with her family during this incredibly difficult time.
“If you are unable to donate, we kindly ask that you share this fundraiser so it can reach more people.
“Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your compassion for Jady’s family. May she rest in peace, and may her loved ones find strength and comfort through this heartbreaking loss.”
A Garda Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support Jady’s family, and An Garda Síochána have said that a senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation into Jady’s death.
Along with donations, messages of condolence have been shared for Jady, with one sharing, “Deepest condolences for the whole family and friends from the closest neighbours of Jady.”
Another message reads, “I am so sorry. I hope we can bring her home.”
