Jane Austen 200 Afternoon Tea at No.1 Pery Square, Limerick
Ireland’s Blue Book is delighted to announce that No.1 Pery Square, Limerick will be hosting a Jane Austen 200 Afternoon Tea on Sunday, July 16, 2017.

This year marks Jane Austen’s 200th anniversary, and No.1 Pery Square invites you to celebrate this with a specially dedicated Afternoon Tea in The Drawing Room of the hotel on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 2 pm. Jane Austen 200 will also consist of a series of events held from July to December 2017 covering theatre, screen, regency fashion, afternoon tea, workshops and talks celebrating Austen and all things Georgian.
This afternoon in celebration of Jane Austen 200 will include some great chat on Jane Austen novels for all her enthusiasts, as well as a brief talk on the history of afternoon tea, and life in the Georgian era. The Jane Austen 200 event will be held in the very suitable location of No.1 Pery Square. No.1 Pery Square overlooks the handsome, tree-lined Peoples Park in Limericks historic Georgian Quarter. This luxurious and intimate boutique townhouse is situated just a 5-minute walk from the city centre and train/bus station which is perfect for anyone wishing to attend.
Guests can also look forward to a welcome address by the curator of Jane Austen 200, Limerick and Austen author, Rose Servitova, who recently released her new book ‘The Longbourne Letters’. There will be a brief introduction to the select teas for the event provided by local tea merchants, Cahill’s of Limerick. Afternoon tea delights will also be served at the event to guests. Serving of afternoon tea delights. Sharon Slater, historian, will be giving a talk ‘Tom LeFroy – Jane’s Limerick Beau’. Sharon’s talk will then be followed up by a presentation and talk from the Irish Historical Costumers on Regency Fashion accompanied with live models.
This is sure to be a fantastic afternoon of history and heritage along with some amazing afternoon tea treats and is certain to delight all literary and Austen enthusiasts right at the heart of Limerick’s Georgian Quarter.
Jane Austen’s Afternoon Tea takes place on Sunday 16th July 2017 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
