The Limerick Jigsaw Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) is a team of volunteers aged between 16 and 25 who are passionate about helping Jigsaw to make a difference to young people’s mental health across Ireland.

The YAP has helped to create and adapt the Jigsaw Limerick service and hub so that it is a warm and welcoming service for young people to attend and is proactive in its promotion of positive mental health as essential for the whole community to thrive.

The Jigsaw Limerick Youth Advisory panel recently celebrated their first full year in operation with a YAP Recognition Night at Shannon Rowing Club. The night was designed to celebrate the very many creative and innovative initiatives and projects that the YAP developed over the past year including the “Shine A Light” on the river project as part of Limerick Mental Health week last October.

One member of YAP said, “Being involved in the YAP makes me feel part of my community and I know that I’m making a difference to the mental health of both young people and the wider community.”

Jigsaw Limerick Youth Advisory do many things to help raises awareness about youth mental health and why it needs to be taken seriously. YAP builds awareness of how Jigsaw Limerick supports young people and their communities.

Another YAP member said, “I’m glad I’ve taken the opportunity to support a very worthwhile cause. It’s contributed to my personal development.” Jigsaw Limerick is a youth-friendly and accessible service, located in the heart of Limerick City in Arthur’s Quay.

If you are aged between 16 and 25, with a passion for Youth Mental Health then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. For more information and an Expression Of Interest form, email [email protected] or call 061 974 510.
