Joe Nash bids farewell to “dream job” with final Limerick Today broadcast at Live95
Limerick broadcasting legend Joe Nash has signed off from Live95 for the final time after more than 25 years in his “dream job”

One of Limerick city and county’s most recognisable voices, Joe Nash, has bid farewell to his listeners after almost three decades on Limerick’s airwaves.
The Live95 host presented his final edition of the iconic Limerick Today show on Friday, June 12, bringing down a curtain on more than 25 years of his professional career with the radio broadcaster.
During his time with the company, he spent the last 17 years as the host of the popular daily show, and a career which saw him serve as CEO and Station Director.

Looking to the future, while thinking of his journey, Nash said to his listeners, “For the first time in 34 years, I get to take the summer off before seeing what’s next. I got to do my dream job in my hometown. Truly, who can ask for more?”
The radio host said he is sure the local radio station “will continue to be a success” and wishes everyone well, but said with his first summer off and no longer part of the daily programming, “I won’t know what to do with myself.”
Joe thanked the audiences who have supported him over the years through their listenership, which would span generations, and their engagement over the more than two decades; he said, “Thank you for listening, contributing, debating, arguing in that unique Limerick way, and for giving me more than the occasional going over.”
Mr Nash also noted the many charitable causes and community initiatives which were supported through the programme as he gave another nod to the listeners who helped share the support, saying, “Thanks too for doing so much for the many good causes and initiatives we’ve highlighted and the various charities we’ve raised money for, most recently Down Syndrome Limerick.”

Reflecting on the team who worked on Limerick Today through his time, Joe noted there were “so many great people”, highlighting the work of producer, Anne Marie Geraghty who has “been here for the whole run and isn’t going anywhere”.
“I work with so many great people on this show, including our producer, Anne Marie Geraghty, who’s been here for the whole run and isn’t going anywhere,” he said, adding that he genuinely appreciated everything the team had done.
He also thanked colleagues across the wider radio station, saying, “Across the radio station, I’ve had brilliant colleagues and bosses past and present. The management group of Gary Connor, Julie White, and Gillian Devlin, along with their great teams, have worked incredibly hard and with all their talents to provide the best possible service to Live 95’s audience, advertisers, and the wider Limerick community. Thank you all.”
i Love Limerick would liek to wish Joe all the very best of luck in the next chapter of his career!
