Milford church Concert fundraiser for Joseph Monaghan this Dec 2

Joseph Monaghan, aged 7, is described as a ‘force of nature’ by his proud parents Joseph and Geraldine.

A festive concert fundraiser, ‘Jingle Bells’ is set to take place in Milford Church this Friday, December 2 at 7:30pm in aid of Limerick boy, Joseph Monaghan.

The brave seven-year-old was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and spastic diplegia when he was a baby and has recently undergone pioneering surgery in the UK.

Lisnagry tenor Owen Gilhooly has helped organize the night for Joseph on Friday and all money raised will go directly to helping Joseph walk in the future.

Joseph Monaghan has previously undergone selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) surgery in Leeds in April of last year.

Receiving an assistance stability dog will prove more than invaluable in this process. Joseph sent a little video to Dogs for the Disabled last week and it has already got over 60,000 views on their official Facebook page.

Aoide, the 80piece choir who are set to perform are delighted to be part of this amazing event, especially since it will be the first time the choir will perform on their home turf of Castletroy.

All the profits will go directly to paying for Josephs ongoing medical costs which are estimated at €30,000.

The money raised could be life changing for Joseph and his family and we wish him all the best for the future.

Aoide is a non-audition all voice choir with rehearsals taking place every Monday 7:30pm to 10:00 pm, Kilmurry Arts and Heritage Centre, Castletroy, Co. Limerick. To find out how you can get involved or for any queries contact 083 4659415.

Tickets are priced at €20 or €40 for a family ticket which includes two adults, two children and are available from the UCH box office on 061 331549 or choir members.
