More than 350 children in 12 primary schools across Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, and Galway have learned more about biodiversity and how to reduce waste, reuse and recycle, thanks to an environmental initiative run by the global healthcare technology company, Zimmer Biomet as part of the Junior Achievement outreach program. Under the initiative, dubbed Keen to Keep it Green, the company donated trees and wildflowers and its employees visited schools to plant the trees, wildflowers and run litter clean-ups. The programme was conducted in full compliance with COVID-19 regulations and public health guidelines.

Seamus Stritch, Principal of Kilfinny National School, Ballynakill, Adare, Co Limerick voiced his appreciation, “We were delighted to welcome some of your staff, who visited our school on June 8th as part of your Keen to Keep It Green initiative. They planted trees and flowers and led a litter pick with our pupils. Throughout, they engaged cordially and respectfully with children and teachers alike. It was indeed a lovely learning and social experience for our students. Well done to Zimmer Biomet and to all the staff in question.”
