A distinguished gathering of world-leading experts on responsibility in business and education came together recently for a Kemmy Responsible Business Breakfast at Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick. This was for a week-long series of conferences on the theme of the Common Good.

Delegates from business, business schools, government and United Nations bodies traveled from 20 countries to further the role of business education and social reporting in serving the common good and the public interest.

A key element of the week that linked to local business and practice was the Kemmy Responsible Business Breakfast, a free public event, which saw UL welcome more than 200 guests. A high-profile guest panel comprising Brendan Jennings, Managing Partner, Deloitte Ireland, and Professor Arnold Smit, Stellenbosch University, South Africa, interacted with local business practitioners and students on questions of what it means for a business to be responsible, and how we might account for such responsibility. The business breakfast was supported by the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Ireland.

Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick, has been recognised by the United Nations as a leader in responsible business education by its recent inclusion on a list of 29 UN PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Champion Schools worldwide.
