Limerick’s mixed media artist, Ken Coleman, is set to bring his upcoming solo exhibition, ‘Magical Creatures’, to Treaty City Brewery on Friday, October 18.

Ken is a mixed media artist combining traditional painting, sculpture, 3D digital art, and photography to create innovative and visually striking work.

His art blends fine art techniques with emerging technologies, offering a constant exploration of new visual possibilities. Featured in major digital art publications like Advanced Photoshop, Advanced Photoshop Germany, and Imagine FX, his work has been described as posthumanist.

As an ambassador for Shining 3D, Ken incorporates cutting-edge 3D scanning technology into his creative process, and he also shares his expertise as a lecturer in Game Art, Design, and Photography at the Technical University of the Shannon in Limerick.

Ken is a mixed media artist combining traditional painting, sculpture, 3D digital art, and photography.

‘Magical Creatures’ Ken Coleman‘s upcoming solo show delves into the realm of dark surrealism, featuring a captivating fusion of photographic portraits, 3D scanning, 3D modeling, and digital painting.

Drawing inspiration from local textures, culture, and the environment, the exhibition explores haunting and otherworldly visual narratives, pushing the boundaries of modern art through a unique blend of technology and fine art techniques.

The exhibition runs From Friday, October 18 until November 2nd, 2024, it gives the Limerick public the opportunity to see Ken’s blend of traditional and innovative media up close in one of Limerick’s unique venues.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
