Dolan’s and Shannon Heritage have announced that Dublin Rockabilly singer Imelda May will headline Live at King John’s Castle Limerick on August 13.

Imelda has previously performed in Limerick at The Big Top in the Milk Market, where she played a successful show.
Famed for her live shows and rockabilly style, Imelda’s show is set to be a popular one. Mick Dolan, of Dolan’s Warehouse, welcomed the announcement, “I am delighted to welcome Imelda May back to Limerick. Imelda is famed for her live shows and we believe the castle will be a prime backdrop to promote her immense talents.”

The singer best known for tracks such as ‘Johnny Got A Boom Boom’ and ‘Big Bad Handsome Man’ will play to a venue that takes a crowd of 2,000. Those who are lucky enough to get tickets will be treated to what will be an amazing performance from the Dublin singer.

After April’s sell-out success at the King John’s Castle at the recent Corona’s concert Shannon Heritage are delighted to be partnering with Dolan’s once again. King Johns Castle Imelda May performance in Limerick will be Dolan’s second ‘Live at King John’s Castle’ concert. An artist of Imelda’s talent will draw crowds from around the country which will benefit music fans and the city’s economy.

Imelda began her professional career in 2003 forming her band and releasing No Turning Back specialising in Rockabilly music. Since then she has rose to fame in Ireland and abroad. May has been compared to female jazz musicians such as Billie Holiday for her musical style of rockabilly revival . The talented musician won Best Female Artist of the Year at the 2009 Meteor Awards.

It is a strictly over 18s event and tickets will sell for €40.
