Written and directed by one of Limerick’s most respected theatre-makers, Margaret Hough, Merry Mayhem will whirl audiences into a magical mix of music, mischief and mystery. Without Mrs Claus’s secret cookie recipe, Santa’s Christmas energy boost may be lost forever — and it’s up to the audience to help save the day in this family-friendly theatrical adventure!

The Christmas buzz is well underway, and newly announced events will have the people of Limerick entertained, including the Castle Suite Sessions featuring some of Ireland’s best-loved performers, beginning with Paddy Casey on Saturday, December 6th, followed by Mundy on Friday, December 12th, and Jerry Fish on Saturday, December 13th. Ahead of Paddy Casey’s appearance at the Castle Suite, Limerick’s own Opera Workshop invites audiences to step into the magic of Christmas with Opera & Carols, two enchanting concerts taking place in the Castle Suite at King John’s Castle on Saturday, December 6, at 3 pm and 6 pm.

Known for its rich history and stunning architecture, the attraction continues to draw visitors eager to capture the perfect photo, this December King John’s Castle is making it easier for families to visit Limerick’s most Instagrammed location as they announce a 25% discount for family tickets.

The announcement has come as an addition to the Treaty Xmas Fair, a first-ever Christmas market fair taking place on the historic Nicholas Street on Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21.

The Fair is putting out a call to vendors for both days to join the celebration of the best that Limerick has to offer with road closures transforming the Medieval Quarter into a pedestrian-friendly Christmas market. The festival is the perfect opportunity for local craftspeople, makers, and independent vendors to showcase their talents. There is no cost for a stall, and vendors keep 100% of their earnings for the entire weekend and those wishing to apply can email [email protected].

Ruth Vaughan of King John’s Castle, said, “ We’re delighted to support Steve with the Treaty Xmas Fair, we are in the most historic street in Limerick. King John’s Castle is the jewel in the crown.
