The Limerick-based photographer, Kirsty Lyons, has received recognition in the “Food at the Table” category sponsored by Fortnum & Mason

Limerick City-based photographer Kirsty Lyons has been awarded Highly Commended in the internationally renowned World Food Photography Awards, with her work shortlisted in the Food at the Table category sponsored by Fortnum & Mason.
The World Food Photography Awards celebrate the very best in food photography and storytelling from around the world, recognising outstanding imagery of food. Finalists represent an exceptional standard of creativity and technical excellence across a highly competitive international field.
The Tipperary-born and Limerick-based photographer was named a finalist from thousands of entries from over 50 countries, by a judging panel which included Jamie Oliver and the world’s most published food photographer, David Loftus. Lyons’ shortlisted image depicts the classic pairing of a pint of Guinness and a plate of oysters in the window of an Irish pub.
“It’s an incredible honour to be recognised among such talented photographers from across the world,” said Kirsty Lyons. “The awards night was an amazing experience and I am delighted to see my work exhibited in the Mall Galleries.”
Dublin photographer Al Higgins was awarded second place in The World of Drinks category for his photograph of the opening night of The Sackville bar in Dublin.

Mayo-based photographer Julia Dunin was awarded Highly Commended in the Unearthed Food For Sale category for her depiction of chicken for sale in Kolkatta.
The winners of the 2026 awards were announced on Tuesday 2nd of June at the official awards ceremony in Central London, where finalists’ work will also be showcased as part of the exhibition programme until June 7th.
The World Food Photography Awards are widely regarded as one of the leading international platforms for food photography, attracting entries from professional and amateur photographers in more than 70 countries each year.
Kirsty Lyons is a freelance photographer based in Limerick and working nationwide. She specialises in food, interior, product and portrait photography.
