The 2021 Limerick Civic Trust Ladies Business Lunch will take place on Friday, September 24 at No.1 Perry Square Hotel, Limerick City.

The annual event will begin with a reception at 12.30 pm, followed by lunch at 1 pm.

Tickets are €60 per person, with proceeds going towards the Limerick Civic Trust’s work in maintaining and restoring the historic streets, monuments, and built heritage of the city.

Virginia Teehan, art historian and CEO of the Irish Heritage Council, will be the guest speaker at this years lunch. Virginia is a cultural leader with significant experience in the fields of heritage protection & interpretation, including as the director of Limerick’s Hunt Museum.

As a curator, researcher and lecturer, Virginia has lectured and published extensively on art-history a special interest in the Irish Arts and Crafts Movement. She has curated over eighty exhibitions within Ireland, the UK, France, Germany and USA.

“We are delighted to announce Virginia Teehan as our guest speaker for our 2021 Ladies Business Lunch. The Civic Trust has no commercial income so we are dependent on successful fundraising events such as our Ladies’ Lunch for continued existence,” says Meadhbh Nolan, spokeswoman for Limerick Civic Trust.

“By supporting the event, you help to maintain the employment of up to seventy persons who work on environmental, restoration and other projects that contribute to the positive improvement of Limerick. Your support enables you to share in our projects and create employment opportunities while promoting and improving Limerick’s built heritage.”

This years event will be the first since 2019 to take place in person, with last years lunch occurring online as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, with guest speaker Bibi Baskin, an experienced Irish broadcaster, chatting to guests online using Zoom.

Limerick Civic Trust was founded in 1982 and was formally inaugurated on the 17th February 1983. The trust is a non-profit, self-funding charity, which undertakes projects for the general improvement of Limerick’s environment, in conjunction with local authorities, state agencies and other interested parties.
