Laura Duff announces “Live at the Coach House”, a four-track filmed performance marking the first anniversary of her intimate and introspective debut album, ‘Sea Legs’.
Drawing from experiences of grief, ‘Sea Legs’ is a visceral body of work that illuminates the Limerick artist’s confronting and honest songwriting.
‘Sea Legs’ was produced by friend and collaborator, Mícheál Keating (Péist, The Low Field, formerly Bleeding Heart Pigeons), who joins her for this stripped-back performance of some standout songs from the record.
Unvarnished details are elemental to Duff’s lyricism across ‘Sea Legs’, making it a beautifully raw and affecting artistic statement. The setting of the Coach House complements these direct, unvarnished sentiments, felt throughout her debut.

The performance was filmed over a day in the Coach House at The People’s Museum, Limerick.
The complete four-track video will be available on Thursday, 28th May. “Live at the Coach House” features Laura Duff and Mícheal Keating with Director of Photography Chris Buckley and additional footage by Graham Patterson.
The video is edited by Graham Patterson, recorded by Diarmuid Ó Sé, and mixed by Mícheál Keating.
“It was very intentional in that way. All of the lyrical context is based around that, and his life, as well as trying to maintain some level of communication. ‘Sea Legs’ is inspired by my experience of navigating everything that comes with losing a parent; dealing with grief as time passes, family relationships and the physicality of death.”
As well as being a celebration of people in Duff’s life, ‘Sea Legs’ chronicles her love for the places that bring colour and life into treasured memories spent by the water. In between, are tangible everyday vignettes such as going for an evening pint, or a book sitting on a shelf waiting to be read, intricately woven into the lyrics. These unvarnished details are elemental to Duff’s astute lyricism across ‘Sea Legs’, making it a beautifully raw and affecting artistic statement.
