Munster Rugby – Thomond Park Abseil For LauraLynn

LauraLynn, Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice, is holding its first regional fundraiser this September, offering participants unique views of Limerick City and a behind-the-scenes look at Thomond Park.

Calling all Limerick thrill-seekers, rugby fans, and big-hearted fundraisers, LauraLynn is inviting supporters to take on the LauraLynn Abseil at the iconic Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick on Saturday, 28th September 2025.

Participants are asked to fundraise before abseiling 42.5 metres from the West Stand of Thomond Park, seeing the stadium from a unique angle. Munster rugby fans are sure to love the chance to walk through the infamous player’s tunnel and get an exclusive behind-the-scenes stadium tour before the abseil.

Timeslots are available from 10am to 5pm on the 28th September.

The event is open to individuals, families, companies, sports clubs, and anyone up for a challenge. The entry fee is €75, with a minimum fundraising target of €200. All participants will be guided by professionals, making it a safe and unforgettable experience.

Funds raised will help LauraLynn continue to provide free-of-charge care and support to families across Ireland from our hospice in Dublin and in family homes in Limerick from our community hub in Mallow. There are 24 families in Limerick currently using LauraLynn’s services.

“When we go to LauraLynn we get to do things as a family, the five of us and that is creating such precious memories. LauraLynn gives us the opportunity to spend much needed quality time with our other two children.” Mum of a child who attends LauraLynn.

“This is our first regional fundraising event and we’re so excited to hold it in Limerick. It gives people the chance to do something amazing for a great cause,” said LauraLynn Regional Fundraising Executive Elaine Buckley.

“Whether you’re conquering a fear of heights or just looking for a unique way to give back, this is a brilliant opportunity to support children and families who need us.”

LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice, providing specialist palliative care to children from birth to 18 years with life-limiting conditions. The hospice offers a wide range of services including symptom management, music and play therapy, psychological support, family and sibling camps, short breaks, and end-of-life care. Care is delivered in the hospice, in hospitals, in the community, and in family homes across Ireland and is always free of charge.

Registration is open now at www.lauralynn.ie/abseil and closes on Thursday, 25th September. Places are limited, so don’t miss your chance to take the leap for LauraLynn!
