This is a feel-good, high-energy stage adaptation of the hit film. When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, played by Holly Ní Chéitinn, Transition Year, witnesses a crime, she’s placed in protective custody at a convent—an environment as unfamiliar as it gets.

Disguised as a nun, Deloris unexpectedly breathes new life into the convent’s choir, turning them into a soulful sensation. Filled with dazzling gospel-inspired music by Alan Menken and a heart-warming story of friendship, faith, and finding your voice, Sister Act is a joyful celebration that will have audiences dancing in the pews.

Transition Year Co-Ordinator, Lorna Ní Bhroin, said, “In the year that we are celebrating 90 years of Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ, we are so proud to bring this gorgeous show to the stage. The founding FCJ community is very important to us here in LHC. They have been central in creating our school’s ethos and have taught us what it is to be cineálta, tuisceanach agus mar chompánach dá chéile.

“These themes are strongly displayed in our school and throughout this show, which is why we felt that this was the perfect one to choose as part of our 90th year celebrations. It is a privilege to work with these fantastic, talented young people. Sister Act is a show that is full of fun, and we have had a ball rehearsing for our performances.”

This show is produced by Lorna Ní Bhroin, TY Co-Ordinator and Music Teacher in the school. She is joined once again by choreographer and co-producer, Robyn O’Brien. There is a strong team of teachers and students behind the scenes. A particular mention to director Sinéad Nic Cumhaill, stage management by Sarah Ní Dhomhnaigh, props and set design by Bairbre Ní Chathasaigh and Radek Urniaz, programme and sponsorship team led by Shellie Galligan, Méabh Nic Conmhara and Emma Ní Raghallaigh, to name only a few.

Students have been working on this production since September, launching straight into auditions after their summer break. The much-anticipated show will run for three nights, 3rd-5th December 2025, in TUS Millennium Theatre. Tickets are available online now.
