“The creation of 60 new jobs over the next six months is testament to the strong available talent in Limerick to help Legato create and develop solutions that promote high value and access to health care. These highly skilled new roles which include AI engineers and expert data scientists will enable the company to apply cutting edge technologies to solve complex problems and I’m thrilled that this innovation will be centred in Limerick.”

The Mayor said the announcement is further testament to Limerick’s ability to compete and win investments in a globally competitive marketplace following the recent Bosch announcement to develop a new automotive R&D centre in the city.

“The availability of talent was a key factor in the decision by Legato to locate here and this highlights how important our third level sector is in producing the right talent with the right qualifications for the jobs available. It also is an acknowledgement of the skills and lifestyle available in Limerick.” He continued: “Legato is committed to transforming healthcare management services through operational excellence, innovation and digital transformation and has the scale to implement global operating models and drive digital transformations that help health insurers reduce costs and improve services. I wish the company well as they open their office in Limerick and commend the IDA for its efforts in securing jobs and investments like this for the Mid-West.”

In a statement this morning, Legato Health Technologies (Legato) said it was attracted to Ireland and Limerick by its strong talent pool.

It said the Limerick team will be responsible for building and iterating applications and AI solutions to make healthcare simple, affordable and accessible for its clients.  With an innovative open office space in Limerick’s National Technology Park along with hybrid work arrangements, Legato said its associates will be able to make the most of the work/life balance Limerick and Ireland’s Mid-West have to offer.

The news was also warmly welcomed by the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar TD and CEO of IDA Ireland, Martin Shanahan.
