Let’s Fund It reaches major €50,000 donation milestone

One of Limerick’s smallest charities, Let’s Fund It, has donated over €50,000 worth of products to Irish charities

One of Limerick’s smallest charities, Let’s Fund It, has reached the incredible milestone of donating over €50,000 worth of products to Irish charities since its foundation in 2019.

The charity has surpassed a major milestone by announcing that it has, to date, donated over €50,000 worth of products to Irish charities to support their service users.

The charity is a volunteer-run charity that uses donated funds to purchase goods and products that go directly to benefit the service users of the charities across Ireland.

Founded in 2019 by four Limerick friends, Stephen Ryan-Doyle, David Walsh, Adam Kinsella & Joseph Guerin, the charity was inspired from a desire by the group to help Irish charity users directly in a practical and transparent way.

Back in 2019, the four friends began by putting a portion of their monthly income into a bank account and allowing it to build up. Once there was enough in the account, the group would simply reach out to charities to offer to purchase products that would directly support their service-users.

As word of their charitable efforts grew, the group started receiving donations. This encouraged the four friends to apply for charity status, and since May 2021, Let’s Fund It has been a fully registered charity.

Charity Chairperson, Stephen Ryan-Doyle, said, “We are delighted to reach our donation milestone of €50,000. We would not have reached this milestone so soon without the support from individuals, families and businesses that have trusted us with their generous donations. Let’s Fund It is committed to full transparency and accountability with every donation we make.”

Since its formation, the group has supported nearly 40 charities across the country. From providing children of the Children’s Ark in University Hospital Limerick with toys and sweets at Christmas, to feeding the animals in the care of multiple animal charities, to supplying arts and crafts materials for cancer support groups, Let’s Fund It has expanded its support through the generous help of its donors.

This year alone, Let’s Fund It has supported Star Animal Rescue with animal food, bedding and toys, ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services with apartment supplies such as kettles, toasters and duvets and Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention with life-saving throwbags.

All products are chosen by charities and placed on the Let’s Fund It website at a discounted price. Potential donors can view the chosen products on the charity’s website and donate as much as they wish of their chosen product(s).

Secretary David Walsh said, “The Let’s Fund It team is delighted to hit such a major milestone this year! The team takes great pride in the work done over the last number of years, helping charities and charity users throughout Limerick, Munster and Ireland. We appreciate all the support we have received, and we are excited to continue our work into the future helping those directly who need it most.”

The charity is fully transparent on how donations are spent and distributed to each charity. Each donation is posted on social media and on the Let’s Fund It website. Donation deliveries to the charities are always shared with great pride. In May, Let’s Fund It was delighted to receive ‘The Extra Mile Award’ from Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention due to the support Let’s Fund It has given the charity over the years.
