WATCH – Leanne Moore and Liir release first cover song “Smells Like Teen Spirit”
Limerick’s own Leanne Moore signed to Ireland’s latest girl band last year. After putting in endless hours of rehearsals and preparations Liir have released their first cover song “Smells Like Teen Spirit” originally by Nirvana.
Alongside Michele McGrath and Kim Hayden, Leanne’s stunning vocals shine through in this professional recording and has gotten fans very excited for hat is to come in the future.
All three members of the group come from different walks of life yet share an impressive background in the music business.
Leanne who was born and raised in Limerick has had previous experience with the Eurovision having appeared as one of Jedward’s backing singers representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in both 2011 and 2012 as well as performing as a backing singer for Ryan Dolan at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013.
The singer rose to fame shortly after winning the 2008 series of RTE’s ‘You’re A Star’ contest. Her debut single ‘On Wings’ went to number one of the Irish Singles Chart in June 2008. The singer who is most known for her presenting roles regularly appears on TV3’s lifestyle and fashion programme Xpose.
Kim Hayden from Wicklow was a contestant on The Voice of Ireland and released her debut EP entitled ‘Warrior’ in 2013, with the title credited to Sharon Corr who used the term to describe Kim while taking part in the show. In July of this year Kim released a song alongside Paddy Casey entitled ‘Out of Control’.
Model and singer Michele McGrath is the final member of the trio. Michele is best known for her modelling career as well as being part of the Irish pop group ‘Industry’. The band ‘Industry’ had two number one singles back in 2009, ‘My Baby’s Waiting’ and ‘Burn’. The model/singer also has a background in acting having featured in ITV drama The Tudors and Camelot.
