Lime Tree Theatre Autumn 2021 promises online and in-person live events across two venues

For the first time in seventeen months the Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable are delighted to be in a position to launch a new Autumn Season Programme this week. They are back open for business with a programme of both online and in-person live events across both venues.

The season opens with the Music Network collaboration of vocalist Iarla Ó Lionáird, harpist and sound artist Úna Monaghan, and cellist Kevin Murphy, and promises to be an exciting season ahead. The IFI@Belltable cinema club is back every Monday evening, kicking off with the critically acclaimed Summer of Soul (…or when the revolution could not be televised). Torch Players and Bottom Dog Theatre Company return to Belltable, and they have a host of festivals in store including the Polish Arts FestivalLimerick Jazz Festival and Light Moves Festival of Screendance. Irish National Opera, Fishamble and Decadent Theatre Company return to Limerick once again – all in all they are gearing up for an unmissable season.

Due to government restrictions our seating capacity is still at 50 for both venues. The hope is for this number to increase in the coming days, as they continue to monitor the situation and will update their website and social media when numbers are confirmed. For this reason the main focus is currently on our events in September and October which includes our Bualadh Bos Children’s Festival. The festival runs from 3rd until the 16th October this year with an exciting programme of in person and online events for families and schools. The full programme will be announced in the coming week.

Louise Donlon, Executive Director of the Lime Tree Theatre and Belltable said, “We still have some way to go to be back to a full programme with full capacities allowed in our venues, but hopefully that will come sooner rather than later. We hope you will find something in our autumn programme that brings you back in person to the Lime Tree Theatre and Belltable. Rest assured that we will do everything to ensure that you will be safe in doing so and that, as we all learn to live with the new reality of live performance, it will remain the unique experience it always has been and that we have missed so much.”

The Lime Tree Theatre also want to welcome three new members to their team who joined them over the summer: Sarah Lynch, their new Creative Producer, Sadhbh McCoy, their Senior Marketing Executive and Catriona Finn who joins them in the box office. Sarah brings enormous experience having worked as a producer at Druid, the Abbey and most recently, the Gate Theatre. Sadhbh re-joins the company after 5 years in London working closely with the West End producer responsible for the MAMMA MIA! franchise and Catriona is a recent graduate from the BA programme in MIC.
