The Lime Tree Theatre in Limerick is seeking performers for its professional Christmas Pantomime with an open call for people interested in principal and ensemble roles.

The Limerick theatre has announced this week that they have now extended the window for applications with submissions now being accepted from individuals aged 18 and older until Monday, March 9, 2026.

Principal roles require a high level of acting and singing ability, while ensemble members should also possess strong dance skills in addition to singing and acting. The Lime Tree Panto search is on, and the theatre said, “We are seeking submissions from individuals aged 18+, to apply for both principal roles and ensemble positions.

“A high level of acting and singing is required to be considered for a principal role, and ensemble members should have a high level of dance ability, in addition to strong singing and acting skills. Professional training and/or experience is desirable. We encourage applications from performers of all ages, all backgrounds, and all levels of experience.”

Professional training or previous experience is desirable, but performers of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply for a role in the iconic panto. Performers interested in starring in this year’s panto should email a short cover letter of no more than 200 words outlining their experience, along with a link to a self-tape, to [email protected].

Those with professional show reels can submit links, while others may provide a self-tape demonstrating at least two talents of singing, acting, or dance. Suggested examples include a musical theatre song, a Panto-style monologue, or a short dance routine.

The Lime Tree Theatre said, “Please note, the Lime Tree Panto is a professional production and this call out is for paid roles. We are looking for performers who can base themselves in Limerick; accommodation is not provided. Applicants must be available for work from mid-November and throughout the Christmas period. Whether you’re an experienced performer or someone who is starting out in their professional career, we encourage you to apply!”

Successful applicants will be placed on a shortlist for consideration by the Creative Team, for this year’s Panto and for future productions. For more information or questions, performers can email [email protected].
