Limerick are set to face Cork in the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling final following a commanding 5-27 to 0-25 over Tipperary at TUS Gaelic Grounds

Limerick booked their spot in the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling final on Sunday, June 7, following a commanding 5-27 to 0-25 win over reigning All-Ireland champions, Tipperary, at a packed-out TUS Gaelic Grounds.
The win cemented the Treaty Men’s spot in the final as they came into the game in second place, level on points with Clare, who fell to Cork in Ennis, setting up a repeat of the 2025 final, this time Limerick will pay a visit to Parc Uí Chaoimh.
John Kiely, who celebrated his birthday on Saturday, will see his men riding high following their ruthless performance, kick-started by an Aaron Gillane goal inside the opening seconds of the game, setting the tone for Limerick on the day.
A second goal came later in the half with an Aidan O’Connor 65 dipping short and finding its way past everyone and into the Tipperary net. Tipperary fought on in the opening half, with great work from Darragh McCarthy, Stefan Tobin, and Noel McGrath, but Limerick still carried a 2-12 to 0-14.

In the opening of the second half, both teams notched on a point before Kyle Hayes was fouled, allowing Diarmaid Byrnes to fire a penalty past Tipp’s Rhys Shelly before adding another point to increase the home side’s advantage. Limerick were riding high and were far from finished as O’Connor added a second goal before Aaron Gillane added another, seeing Limerick score five goals on the day.
The Limerick men now have two weeks to prepare for their eighth consecutive Munster Senior Hurling Final with a tough visit to Cork’s Parc Uí Chaoimh, who also dominated Clare in their final game of the round robin.
Limerick supporters were out in force on the day, doing their part following a call from Limerick GAA to “be heard, be seen for our boys in green”, which saw supporters pour into the Gaelic Grounds early in a sea of green.
