County Limerick Beekeepers Association Apiary Plague

Limerick Beekeepers Association is a voluntary organisation and affiliated to the Federation of Irish Beekeepers Associations (FIBKA). Founded in 1965, they currently have over a hundred members ranging in ages from 11 to 80 years of age.

The aims of the Limerick Beekeepers Association are to promote beekeeping for everyone from the hobbyist to the serious professional, together with environmental awareness in our geographical area. In winter, association meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month in Mungret GAA Hall. Great emphasis is placed on improving all members’ knowledge of beekeeping at all levels. Top Lecturers from the FIBKA approved panel regularly attend educating in all aspects of beekeeping. The meetings provide a social outlet for members to meet and mingle, discuss all issues around beekeeping in the community over a cup of tea.
