The Limerick Business Women Awards 2016, sponsored by LEO Limerick and AIB, will take place on Wednesday May 11 at No.1 Pery Square Hotel & Spa Limerick. The awards are run by Network Ireland, a non-profit organisation established in 1983, the organisation supports the professional and personal development of women. Which is what the Limerick Business Women Awards 2016 embodies. Ten business women have been announced in the shortlist for the awards across three categories, New business, Employee category and SME.

Employee Category: Emma Heuston, Cook Medical; Aoife Healy, Flok Ireland; Sandra Honan, The Pudding

SME: Valerie Murphy, Valerie’s Breast Care; Ciara Flanagan, Plush beauty; Fiona Doyle, Glamour Agency

Each category brings a diverse range of businesses, not only do the awards help the women promote their business but it also gives them a platform to create links and share ideas. The winners from each category will then move on to nation finals which will be announced at The Gala Ceremony in September in Cork.

Special guest speaker Chupi Sweetman-Pell, the founder and creative director of multi award winning jewellery company Chupi, will share her success story and how she created such a successful business at the awards. Wine and canapes reception at 7:15pm will be followed by the awards ceremony at 8pm. The event is free to members and guests but pre booking is essential.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
