Small, yet Perfectly Formed – Limerick Ceramic Artists

“Small, yet Perfectly Formed” is the third exhibition of new work by Limerick Ceramic Artists. The exhibition will take place from Friday November 14 until Sunday November 30 at Limerick Craft Hub.

The group are very happy to have this opportunity to show their work in the new Limerick Craft Hub in Cecil Street, and wish all the craft people involved in this venture every success in this Year of Culture and for many years to come.

They are delighted to be  the first group exhibiting in this new venue.  They started out with more than 20 people interested in taking part so they chose the theme of small, yet perfectly formed  to accommodate to the exhibition space.  It has been very interesting to observe the response to the theme which has led to new developments in work among many of the participants.

Limerick Ceramic Artists live and work in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary. Most are graduates of Limerick School of Art and Design. The artists work independently, and come together for specific projects and peer support. Their first exhibition, Then and Now, was a collaboration with the Hunt Museum in the summer of 2011.

In November 2012 Expressions in Clay took place in the Raggle Taggle space in Sarsfield Street, Limerick. On Culture Night, 2013, they hosted a very popular cup-making evening in the Franciscan Church with 500 adults and children participating. The artists wish to thank Limerick City and County Council for their generous sponsorship of this exhibition, and  to also thank the Craft Hub for all their cooperation with the venture.

Dr Hugh Maguire, Director, Hunt Museum, Limerick, will open the Exhibition on Thursday 13th at 6.30pm.

The exhibition can be viewed at Limerick Craft Hub on Lower Cecil Street Monday to Saturday, 10am until 5.30pm and on Sunday November 30th from 2pm until 5pm.
