Limerick Chamber has officially launched the Limerick Chamber Business Awards 2018 in the Castletroy Park Hotel, in association with award sponsors LIT, to honour excellence and innovation in businesses.

The Limerick Chamber Business Awards 2018 aim to celebrate the achievements of companies in the region and to recognise their vital contribution to the economy.

Now in its eighth year, the annual Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards, celebrate excellence in business across 7 categories.  Last year, Roadbridge won the Overall Business of the Year Award.

The Limerick Chamber President’s dinner will be held in the Strand Hotel on the evening of Friday, November 16.  The event is the most prestigious business event in the region. Over 400 guests will attend the black-tie gala event this year.

The purpose of the awards is to honour businesses, from SMEs right up to multi-nationals, who continue to operate with success and distinction in the Limerick region. 

Media sponsors, Limerick Leader and Limerick’s Live 95FM, will profile each of the companies shortlisted for the awards. The awards are a wonderful opportunity for companies to showcase their company offering from the shortlisting stage up to the official announcement at the Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner and Limerick Chamber Business Awards 2018 which will take place on November 16.

Dr Gráinne Greehy, Interim CEO with Limerick Chamber, commented, “We are excited to have, once again, launched our Regional Business Awards in association with LIT. The Awards are a real opportunity for businesses in the region to showcase their outstanding business success in recent years. The seven award categories this year provide an excellent opportunity for businesses across all sectors to demonstrate their achievements, innovation and excellence and to acknowledge their valuable contribution to the economy and wider community.”

In total, there are seven categories in the 2018 Awards, this is to meet the changing business dynamics in the Mid-West. The awards are designed for a wide range of companies to enter from a variety of sectors and sizes.

These are Best Emerging Business 2018, sponsored by LIT and Limerick City & Council, Best SME: Contribution to the Region 2018, sponsored by AIB, Best Large Business: Contribution to the Region 2018, sponsored by HOMS, Best CSR: Contribution to the Region 2018, sponsored by Deloitte, Best Retail and Hospitality 2018, sponsored by Limerick Chamber Skillnets, Best Not for Profit 2018, sponsored by Northern Trust and Best Employer 2018, sponsored by Action Point.

The closing date for entries is September 14, 2018. The Awards are open to businesses in Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, North Cork and North Kerry; both members and non-members of Limerick Chamber can enter. Winners for each award category will be announced at Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner on November 16, 2018.

This year, the structure of the Awards have been changed and have implemented with an independent judging panel comprised of senior management and business owners across the region, chaired by Anne Heraty, CPL & Chair of the judging panel for EY Entrepreneur of the Year.
