New Limerick Chamber CEO Dee Ryan commences post determined to help shape the continued progress of the region

The new Limerick Chamber CEO Dee Ryan took up her position determined that the region’s leading business representative body will continue to play a key role in ensuring the economic resurgence is maintained across city and county.

An honours degree graduate in Business Studies from UL and a holder of a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute, Ms. Ryan brings a wealth of experience to the role.  This includes as the founder and CEO of an award-winning Limerick based SME, SPARK Marketing, and also as Executive Director of Limerick based international aid agency Bóthar.

Dee, she is looking forward to getting fully immersed in the position and helping to chart a course for the Chamber that will help stimulate an even more pro-business operating environment in the city, county, and region.

“I probably couldn’t have picked a better week to start as the city is on a high in the build-up to the All-Ireland final on Sunday. We can take inspiration from John Kiely and his regime that we can achieve anything we want in business here if we put our minds to it.

“Limerick’s success on the field this year has been down to the implementation of a plan and everyone buying into it.  Likewise, one of the hallmarks of the success of Limerick in business over the past five years or so has been the buy-in from all the stakeholders and Limerick Chamber has been one of the leaders in that regard, including through my predecessor James Ring.

“From my perspective, I’m determined that we continue to play that pivotal role; having our own plan, helping to form the narrative and pushing for changes needed to make sure our members have the best possible operating environment so that they and the region can thrive.”

Ms. Ryan said that she is looking forward to getting to fully know the team at Limerick Chamber and developing a pathway forward to help advance the chamber and members’ lot.  “There’s a great team in place in the Chamber and they work really well together so I’m looking forward to rolling up the sleeves with them.  It’s a huge opportunity and I’m honoured to have been offered the post in the first instance. ” said Limerick Chamber CEO Dee Ryan.

“It’s early days yet, of course, but I’m looking forward to developing a new strategic plan for Limerick Chamber and how we can enhance our offering to members and best support their needs.  I will be keen also to ensure we can represent their viewpoint through policy we develop here and hope to influence at the local and national government.

“We will continue to keep the foot on lobbying for key infrastructure, doing what we can to ensure the delivery as quickly as possible of projects like the M20 and Northern Distributor Road, which are critical to the ongoing development of Limerick and the region.”
