Limerick City will come alive with music, theatre and festive spirit as The Classic Christmas Carol Trail takes place on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th December, from 6pm to 9pm

The trail begins at 6pm at the bandstand in People’s Park, where traditional carol groups will perform beloved Christmas classics including Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

Presented by CWB.ie, LimerickAtNight and supported by Limerick City and County Council, the Classic Christmas Carol Trail, an enchanting, family-friendly event, invites residents to celebrate the heritage and community of Limerick at Christmas on Friday, 19th and Saturday, 20th December, from 6pm to 9pm.

The trail begins at 6pm at the bandstand in People’s Park, where traditional carol groups will perform beloved Christmas classics including Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Georgian-era costumed actors and singers will then lead audiences on a magical musical journey through the city, encouraging everyone to sing along.

The softly lit procession will travel from People’s Park to The Crescent, onwards to Thomas Street at the O’Connell Street junction, before continuing to Arthur’s Quay Park for a spectacular final performance. Lively carols such as Deck the Halls, Jingle Bells and Joy to the World will fill the streets, with the Christmas lights of the River Shannon and King John’s Castle providing a stunning backdrop.
