The recently formed Limerick City Centre Traders association are saying “Thank You” to people of Limerick for their support over the last 18 months. Over the next four Saturdays there will be music and dance in the City Centre for everyone to enjoy.

It all kicks off on Saturday, August 7, with The DownTown Dixieland Band playing a weekly slot on the junction of Thomas Street and Catherine Street from 11am to 1pm.

There will be an open air free Zumba class every Saturday for all to get moving in Arthurs Quay park from 12 noon to 1pm with renowned instructor Darren Nash.

All around the street corners you can listen to the sounds of various buskers including Thick as Thieves as they bring all types of music to the streets of Limerick for the people of Limerick.

There will be additional colour on Saturday, August 7 building up to the All-Ireland Semi-final in the afternoon. All the performers will be going green in support of the team and the LCCTA are encouraging the public to wear their green to town that day also.

On Saturday, August 21, St Marys Fife and Drum band will be an additional attraction as they perform on Thomas Street from 11.30 pm – 1pm.

Caroline Long, CEO Limerick & District Credit Union said, “As Chair of the Limerick City Centre Traders Association I want to say a big thank you to the people of Limerick for their unwavering support over the last 18 months. The reaction from Limerick people since our city traders have reopened has been phenomenal. In appreciation our Traders invite all our shoppers to come into Limerick over the next 4 Saturday’s to enjoy the wonderful entertainment and atmosphere. We want to thank Limerick City and County Council for all their help and support and we look forward to seeing all our customers there.”

Eva Clarke of Tony Clarkes Schoolbooks on Thomas Street added, “We’re blown away with the support we’ve been given during Covid so we are having Saturdays of thank yous to the people of Limerick for the rest of August. We’re having a €250 voucher giveaway each week. And 14 musical local acts each sat distributed across the city. There’ll be a great vibe around town.”
